Who you are:

Frey is looking for an expert data engineer/BI consultant with a passion for database management, cloud storage solutions, BI and analytics to help take our current set-up to the next level.

We expect that you have the ambition to make a difference and help us go the extra mile. You will be joining a team of specialist and competent colleagues within all aspects of the business from data to trading – everyone on a mission to challenge the way agricultural commodities move today - starting with data!

Role and Responsibilities – you will be:

  • Identifying data needs across the organisation both short and long term, taking an active role in designing what system architecture and solutions to use

  • Developing and maintaining our cloud-based data warehouse solutions, as the foundation and infrastructure for our modelling and trading algorithms and tools

  • Utilizing dimensional modelling for optimization purposes

  • Hands-on coding the solutions with the team

  • Using your capabilities within programming/coding to create new tools and models to improve decision making and optimize processes

Expected Skills and Experience – we expect that you:

  • Come with 1-3 years of experience from a similar role and are ready to take the next step in your career increasing your level of influence and responsibility

  • Your education is less important, but perhaps you have a background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or similar

  • Have strong analytical skills in fundamental disciplines related to cloud and back-end

  • Have significant experience in T-SQL and Power BI/DAX

  • Have significant experience in Kimball modelling

  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Power Apps and Power Automate

Personal skills – we expect that you:

  • Have a challenger mindset

  • Can focus on the team's goals

  • Are a technological first mover

You are proficient in English at a professional level, both written and spoken.
